You are welcome to join our five-week introduction to meditation series, Like a Gentle Flowing River from Sunday 20 July.

The course will focus on:
• an introduction to meditation techniques
• how to develop your calm abiding with a focus on relaxation
• the impermanence of life’s worries and problems that are thrown our way
• what is the drama about karma, and
• exploring delusions that can arise and obstruct our practice.

Life changing – Path to enlightenment

2025 Path to Enlightenment classes continue on Sun 22 June with a new 5-week segment focusing on Understanding Karma. Learn more about this 5-week focus on karma here.

One of the special qualities of path to enlightenment texts is that the focus is primarily practical rather than theoretical.
Each subject includes an explanation of how to cultivate meditation to deepen our understanding of it. The practice of the path to enlightenment is life changing.
Meditations in the Path to Enlightenment
Tuesdays from 11am-12 noon resuming 22 July
Join guided meditation sessions, ‘Meditations on the Path’, on Tuesdays from 11 am to 12 noon.
Paul Sokolich introduces insightful meditations, drawing on meditations in the extraordinary text, ‘Meditations on the Path to Enlightenment’, by Geshe Loden. Enter from the back of the temple. The session is followed by a cuppa and chat.
About the classes
You can join the classes in the magnificent traditional Tibetan temple.
New and experienced meditators are welcomed.

The temple is a wonderful and serene space, featuring a 12-foot statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Cushions for those who like to meditate cross-legged, and chairs to suit others’ comfort. Delicious refreshments and opportunity to chat after each session.
All teachers are long term students of the Society’s founder, Venerable Geshe Acharya Thubten Loden.
Sunday classes comprise a guided meditation, a talk, Q&A. $10 facility charge per session and $15 for both. Proceeds support upkeep of the temple and gardens.
